Improving to Better Serve Our CustomersAt Banks, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve our processes and technology to better meet customer needs. Recently, we’ve made a number of upgrades. Here at our White Pigeon facility, we’ve replaced the computer operating system in our Quantum plant to improve performance with our rips programs. We’re also upgrading 5 of our White Pigeon dry kilns by installing forced-air fans, which will improve the drying process for our White Hard Maple as well as increase the drying capacity for those kilns. At our Newberry yard we are in the process of implementing the same manufacturing technology used at our other locations to facilitate the use of our real-time bar code manufacturing information system. ‘Greening’ Our Corporate Office SpaceWe are currently working with Midwest Energy to purchase renewable energy credits, which will enable us to supply our corporate offices with wind-generated electricity. |
