Mike Middleton, Manager of the Quantum plant at Banks Hardwoods, has been attending classes at Southwestern Michigan College. Mike’s summer internship involves a dust collection system upgrade at our White Pigeon, Michigan facility. This will be an ongoing project, initially involving the installation of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and touch screens in each of the buildings. The purpose of this project is to enhance and strengthen the dust collection system, allowing us to monitor the system and prevent possible breakdowns.

Mike is also involved with a dry kilns upgrade project at our Newberry, Michigan facility. This project involves installing information controls for remote monitoring, and installing PLCs for manipulating the steam valves.
