What is Cumaru?
Cumaru is an extremely durable Peruvian hardwood that has incredible strength and natural resistance to damage.
Five times harder than pine, cedar and redwood, Cumaru is also ten times stronger than composite decking products. With a rating of 25 years against decay and insect damage, Cumaru is perfect for long-term, high-use projects such as exterior decking and structures. This unique wood also boasts a Class-A fire rating, the same as concrete or steel.
Virtually maintenance free, Cumaru naturally weathers to a beautiful silvery-gray patina. The application of a sealer is purely optional.
Applications
Cumaru is an excellent choice for virtually all exterior and interior construction projects. While commonly used for decking, framing and outdoor furniture, this versatile wood also excels in applications such as flooring, sliced veneers and even hand tools.

Working with Cumaru
Because of its density, Cumaru does require proper working tools. We recommend carbide tipped saw blades and tapered, hardened steel or diamond drill bits. Though Installation requires predrilling of holes, it installs easily with many fastener systems currently available.
